All current non-Senior Executive Service (SES) employees of the Parliamentary Service are eligible to apply for review. 

Only current Parliamentary Service Level 1–5 employees who have applied for promotion to Level 2–6 positions can apply for promotion review.

Former Parliamentary Service employees have limited rights of review for:

  1. a decision that they have breached the Code of Conduct after their Parliamentary Service employment ceased (Section 48A, Parliamentary Service Act 1999)
  2. the final entitlements paid (Parliamentary Service Determination, Division 3, clause 115).

Employees of the Australian Public Service (APS) have similar review schemes.
